How it works
The idea
Topout is a launchpad for pump.fun coins with one extra rule. To top out is to reach the summit. Here every coin launched on Topout leaves a stone (a share of its creator fees) on one shared Pile. If a coin's holders vote for it, the Pile can pay for the last stretch of that coin's bonding curve.
Why it buys the curve
A pump.fun coin migrates when every token for sale on its bonding curve has been bought. The Pile can't pay “a migration fee”; it can only buy the tokens still on the curve. The cost of that, the gap, is quoted from pump.fun's live settings on each coin's page.
The vote
- A coin can ask once its curve is 85% along, its market cap is at least $35,000 and it carries the Topout seal. The market cap is the curve's price times the total supply, in dollars at Jupiter's SOL price; if either can't be read, the coin can't ask.
- The vote stays open for 24 hours. Each holder signs a white stone (yes) or a dark stone (no) with their wallet; it is free.
- A ballot's weight is the smaller of the holder's balance when voting and when the vote closed, capped at 5% of the circulating supply (tokens held by wallets, not the ones still on the curve).
- The result counts if voters hold at least 10% of the circulating supply and yes beats no. After a no or a missing quorum, the coin waits 24 hours before it can ask again.
- If yes wins, the Pile pays only if it can cover the whole gap plus a 3% margin within 50% of its balance.
The numbers
| Rule | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible from | 85% | curve progress at which a coin can ask |
| Minimum market cap | $35,000 | curve price × supply × SOL/USD; unknown means not eligible |
| Vote length | 24 hours | from the moment the vote opens |
| Cool-down | 24 hours | after a no or a missing quorum |
| Quorum | 10% | of the circulating supply must vote |
| Wallet cap | 5% | of the circulating supply, per wallet |
| Topout cap | 50% | of its balance, per coin |
| Gap margin | 3% | added to the quoted gap |
Rules version 1. Changing a number above ships as a new version and keeps the old one, because it would change the outcome of votes already held.
The seal
When a coin is launched here, its IPFS metadata gets two extra fields: createdOn set to this site, and topout: { v: 1, pledge } with the pledged share (50, 75 or 100). The site reads them back from the chain. A coin without them is a plain pump.fun coin and can't ask.
What isn't guaranteed
- Wallet splitting: the cap is per wallet, and one holder can spread tokens across many. The vote is a signal weighted by balances, not proof of distinct people.
- Custody: until the vote is enforced by a program, whoever controls the Pile is trusted to execute only passed votes.
- Prices: nothing here says a coin will rise, or that completing the curve helps its price.
